ABOUT THE INDIA SCHOOLS TEAM

The Schools Team works in a lean and collaborative way with our government partners, developing strong implementation plans and providing support at every step of the way. We learn and constantly iterate by gathering feedback and through data-backed insights and efficacy studies. With a small team of 9 members, we have managed to reach 12,000+ teachers and 1.2million learners across various states.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As part of our government programmes, we support teachers and teacher mentors through training sessions, resources, webinars and by enabling peer-to-peer sharing. The Schools Team is looking to bring on-board Principal, Teacher Professional Development to lead all the professional development efforts of teachers, teacher mentors, and administrators as part of the team’s work with different government partners.
In this role you would:
- Strengthen the existing teacher professional development framework, aligned to the team’s overall goals
- Own complete design and execution of capacity building initiatives for the partner programmes, leveraging both synchronous and asynchronous modes
- Build a strong cadre of Master Trainers in multiple languages to execute high quality trainings for partners, at scale
- Build relationships with existing and new training partners as well as key players in the TPD space such as SIEMAT, NCTE etc
- Work very closely with Khan Academy's schools, content, ops, data and efficacy teams
ABOUT YOU
You would be a great fit for the role if you are:
- 10+ years of experience including 5+ years working on designing effective training programmes for teachers and other education stakeholder, ideally in a government setting
- Prior teaching or education research experience (will be a plus)
- A first-principles problem solver with strong data-driven decision making skills
- The ability and experience to comfortably move between short and long term outcomes
- A passion for education and a desire to change the world
- A proven ability to work across teams with superior communication skills
- A proven ability to work with team members to identify and solve problem statements
