Hybrid Working

Financial Control has the primary responsibility of ensuring the Balance Sheet integrity of trading, banking & investment products and service entities/strategic business units.

The person responsible for supporting / driving development and maintenance of a strong Financial Control framework
  • Ensure processes and controls are completed on time and to the right quality
  • Strong Relationship Management
  • Supporting Financial Control, Global Reconciliation Services, and Product Control teams
  • Technical support to business as required on BAU.

What will you be doing?
The key responsibilities of the role include:

Financial Control Processes (70%)
  • Ensuring all processes are completed within the relevant timescales and service levels are maintained
  • Proactively maintain and develop own up to date specialist process and system knowledge to act as a point of reference.
  • Fair idea of the Stat and Finrep reporting space which forms part of our Regulatory submissions.
  • Dealing with group on Group queries for legal entity.
  • Ensuring review process through review packs.
  • Ownership & acceptance of the business responsible for.
  • Fair knowledge of LEC function including month close processes, account reconciliation and substantiation, etc.
  • Investigates and resolves problems, issues and queries liaising, with customers, suppliers and other experts, as appropriate
  • Partner with stakeholders on solution when dealing with issues/ challenges raised by them.
  • Assist with ad-hoc projects and reporting requirements as they arise
  • Opine on technical queries
  • Helping in closure of books of accounts
Relationship & Stakeholder Management (20%)
  • Manage and develop effective relationships with Business Units, other functions in wider finance
  • Liaise with key stakeholders across the business units to identify common issues, opportunities for improvements and act as a central subject matter expert
  • Communicate process changes and share knowledge required to successfully implement necessary changes
Advisory & Consultative (10%)
  • Support business units providing expert help and guidance including accounting issues
  • Support in investigating and resolving problems, issues and queries, liaising with customers, suppliers as appropriate
  • Ensure consistency of approach across the Business units

  • Strong control awareness
  • Qualified Accountant – CA, CPA, ACCA, CIMA, ICWA with strong and relevant financial control experience
  • Strong understanding/practical experience on application of Accounting Standards/IFRS

4.Assistant Manager - Internal Finance Control


The broad scope of this role involves reporting to the AVP of Financial Governance, Policy and Best Practice and working in a newly created team to improve and strengthen the controls within the finance function and compliance with CC policies. The team will comprise of Subject Matter Experts from a variety of disciplines within the finance function and will work together and with the Head of Financial Governance, Compliance, Tax and Internal Audit teams to design policies in response to recommendations and proactively for high risks areas. The team will work with FCs in offices globally to implement these policies.


Key Responsibilities


  • Work with a team on risk-based monitoring and evaluation activities, including risk assessment, monitoring and testing, analysis of findings, and reporting to ensure effective, sustainable risk management processes exist.
  • Working with local offices to perform retesting of IA issues which have been actioned upon by offices to ensure robust control environment.
  • Draft internal financial controls.
  • Assist offices with implementation of key and non-key controls as part of Internal Controls Framework.
  • Working both individually and as a part of a team in reviewing existing CC policies to ensure that they reflect statutory requirements and world class standards.
  • Rolling out new policies and taking feedback from finance teams globally.
  • Assist FGP team in performing bank mandate audits and highlighting observations to local offices to ensure timely action.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant
  • 5 - 8 years of post-qualification statutory audit experience.
